8/1/2017 – 12/2/2017 Introduction to Meditation and Buddhism 6 week course


We are running a 6 week ‘Introduction to Meditation and Buddhism’ course on Mondays from 7pm to 9pm starting Monday 8th January until and including Monday 12th February. The course will be run by Sanghaketu (Order Member from Cambridge Buddhist Centre) and regular attenders to the group.

Meditation provides a way to help you relax, become more focused, develop your , understand your relationships, understand yourself better and become wiser and more compassionate. The two meditations introduced in this course are based on those taught by the Buddha to help his followers towards Enlightenment and are the mindfulness of breathing and development of loving-kindness (metta bhavana) meditations.

There are six sessions which usually consist of instruction in meditation; short meditations; semi-formal presentations by the leader(s); discussion time for participants to relate the material to their own experience; and experiential workshop aspects. For the duration of th, you are encouraged to take up a daily meditation practice of up to 30 minutes a day.
